Q: What is mdcr?

A: MDCR stands for Mad Dragon Community Recording. Our goal is to spread the knowledge of Drexel's Music Industry Program to those in the greater Philadelphian community. Our workshops are run by Drexel professor Cyrille Taillandier and a group of student volunteers.


Q: Where is MDCR located?

A: Our classroom and studio are located at the Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships (3509 Spring Garden St., Philadelphia, PA 19104). You can learn more about them here.


Q: What kind of equipment do you have?

A: Our classroom has 12 student stations, each equipped with a Mac computer, Scarlett Solo interface, Alesis V25 MIDI keyboard/drumpad, and Blue Solo USB microphone. All of our Mac's have Pro Tools, Logic Pro, and Ableton Live.

Our studio has acoustically treated recording and control rooms. Our control room has an Apollo Twin interface, Impact GX49 MIDI keyboard, and MR524 monitors. Our recording room has 1 Avantone CV-12, 1 Golden Age R1 MKII, 2 Gauge ECM-87, 2 Golden Age FC4, and 1 SM57.


Q: Can i book a session at the studio? How much does that cost?

A: Of course you can! As with all of our services, booking a session with us is completely free. You can apply for a session here.
